Who is Atsila Candle Co....
We are a Veteran owned/Cherokee Woman led candle company based in Cherokee County, Oklahoma. We are a member of MIO (Made in Oklahoma).Guess what? Atsila means "Fire" in Cherokee. You just learned something new!!
We both play with fire....sort of. I (Cat), am the creative weirdo that plays with wax & fire. Grizzly(the hubs) is a DAV (disabled Vet) and the Asst. Chief of our local volunteer fire department. I am also a former firefighter who is unable to work due to medical disabilities. I deal with a lot of debilitating pain and candle making has been my saving grace. It has allowed me to disappear into my own little world and focus on creating artisan waxworks that people love. We decided to take my passion for candles and turn it into a side hustle. "It'll be easy they said", "You can start it for only $100 they said", "It'll be fun they said". Ha! Definitely took more than $100 but we have no regrets. We are thankful and blessed to have such wonderful support from all of you.
~~~Candle Care~~~
Make sure to let your candle get a full melt pool (melted wax reaches the edge of the tin) on it's first lighting. Always keep your wicks trimmed to 1/4". Soy wax cools in an ugly manner sometimes, so don't be shocked if you have bumpy tops after use. It's actually an indicator that you TRULY have an organic soy wax candle. !! So, in this case, UGLY is beautiful!!
Never pick up a newly extinguished candle. To ensure protection of table tops and other furniture, make sure to keep your candle on a heat safe surface. Keep candle out of reach of pets and children. If it's hot, don't touch it!!
